The Drone Aviation Kft. team reached another milestone last week: we held our first presentation on Friday, May 20, and we can say that our week ended with success. Thanks to the Font winery, we had the opportunity to test our drones live in vineyards, to show how the technology could be incorporated into the cultivation technology and plant protection routine of grapes. For the event - exceeding our expectations - approx. 25 guests interested in winegrowing came. At the presentation, we welcomed the participants with scones and wine tasting.
We started the presentation with an RGB survey, on the basis of which visual maps can be made, stem counting and weeding surveys can also be carried out. We did the survey on an area of half a hectare. Then we moved on to the multispectral survey: we created an NDVI map, which the interested parties could also view on a large screen. With these surveys, disease hotspots, critical stress conditions, and weaker areas can be filtered out, on the basis of which e.g. also a fertilizer application plan. These surveys can also be carried out in a time series, so the state of capital can be continuously monitored. After the surveys, we also held a drone spraying demonstration. The spraying was carried out with foliar fertilizer and litmus paper was placed on the vines in different hard-to-reach places.
After spraying, the papers were removed, and everyone was able to make sure that with this technology, the agent reaches the backs of the leaves as well as the inside of the curls, so the treatment will be sufficiently effective.
